A tunable microwave slot antenna based on graphene

We design and numerically investigate a broadband tunable terahertz polarization converter based on graphene metamaterial. The converter presents a broad conversion band with high polarization conversion ratio (>0.95) in terahertz frequency over a bandwidth which is 25.8% of the central frequency.

Abstract. The paper presents the experimental and modeling results of a microwave slot antenna in a coplanar configuration based on graphene. The antennas are fabricated on a 4 in. high-resistivity Si wafer, with a similar to 300 nm SiO2 layer grown through thermal oxidation. Microwave Study of Field-Effect Devices Based on Graphene ... Microwave synthesis 'zaps' graphene to perfection A quick and efficient way to produce single-layer graphene using microwaves and ionic liquids has been found by RIKEN researchers. Takuzo Aida from the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science and colleagues from across Japan theorized that using everyday microwave ovens might improve graphene synthesis. A graphene solution for microwave interference -- ScienceDaily A single layer of graphene can absorb up to 25% of incident microwave radiation, which is a lot for a one atom-thick material. With a multilayer graphene/PMMA arrangement, the absorption rises to 50%.
